About us

BA Consulting Engineers was established in 1982 by Dave Beattie who graduated as a Civil Engineer from the University of the Witwatersrand and is a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa

He has been involved in Structural Design, Construction and Project Management for over 30 years.

His initial experience was as a construction manager in the employ of large civil engineering and structural steel contractors in South and Central Africa and a large Consulting Engineering/Project Management firm in England active in the Middle East.

Over the years BA Consulting Engineers has concentrated on the structural design and construction inspection of commercial and industrial buildings.

More recently we have specialized in the structural analysis, assessment, and certification of existing buildings to determine whether they can support the additional loading of Solar PV panels. We also design structural reinforcement if a building cannot support the panels
